Privacy Policy — Clive

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Clive does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.

Your games stay yours

Clive opens the tape, snapshot and disk files you choose, on your own disk. It sends them nowhere. The app runs in Apple's sandbox, so it can reach only the files and folders you choose to open.

What stays on your device

Clive remembers how you like to play: your display, keyboard and joystick settings, the appearance you chose, your favourites and recently played games, and how your library is sorted. All of that is stored in the app's own preferences on your device.

Your save slots and pictures of the games you have played are kept in the app's own storage on your Mac. They never leave the device, and they are removed when you delete the app.

If you add a folder to your library, macOS gives Clive a bookmark so it can reopen that same folder next launch. The bookmark is stored with the app's preferences and grants access to nothing else.

Game controllers

If you connect a game controller, Clive reads its buttons to play the game. That input is used only inside the app and is not recorded or sent anywhere.

Network access

Clive makes no network requests, and its sandbox gives it no way to make any. It has no server, checks for nothing, and reports nothing.

What Clive never does

Children

Clive is safe for all ages. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children.

Changes
