Privacy Policy — Foodie

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Concept Development never receives your recipes, lists or anything else you keep in Foodie.

There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.

Your recipes stay yours

Your recipes, photographs, collections, tags and notes are stored on your own device. Concept Development runs no server, has no copy of them, and keeps no record of what they contain. You can export everything back out at any time, and deleting the app removes what it kept on the device.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, Foodie keeps your recipes in your own private iCloud database so your devices stay in step and you have a backup. That data lives in your Apple account, not ours — we cannot read it, and we are not told it is there. Apple's handling of it is covered by their own privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for Foodie, the app keeps working and everything simply stays on the device.

Sharing a list or a collection

You can share a shopping list or a collection through iCloud. You choose who can join, either people you invite or anyone with the link, and whether they can make changes or only look. Nothing is shared until you do this.

On a shared list, people who can make changes can add, tick and remove items. In a shared collection, each person adds their own recipes and photographs, and nobody can change anyone else's. Anyone in the collection can save a copy of a recipe into their own Foodie, and that copy stays with them.

You can stop sharing at any time, and anyone can leave. That does not take back what others already have: they can keep their own copy of a list, and any recipes they saved. When you leave a collection, the recipes you added are taken out of it.

When someone shares a list or a collection with you, it is kept in their iCloud, and they can see what you add to it.

Saving a recipe from the web

When you tap Share in Safari and choose Foodie, or give Foodie a web address, the app reads that page and pulls out the recipe. Your device fetches that page, and the site hosting it receives the request the same way any website receives a visit. Nothing about you is added to the request, and nothing passes through a server of ours, because there is none.

Foodie does not send the address, the page, or the saved recipe anywhere else.

Photographs

You can add a photograph to a recipe from your photo library or your camera. iOS asks your permission first, and Foodie sees only the picture you choose. The picture is copied into the app's own storage beside the recipe. Foodie does not read your photo library on its own, and it sends no photograph anywhere.

Meal plan and Calendar

If you allow it, Foodie keeps your meal plan on a calendar in the Calendar app. It makes one called Foodie, or you can choose another of your calendars. Foodie reads the events on that calendar for the week you are looking at, and changes only what you change in Foodie, so a calendar of its own keeps your other events out of it. Anyone you share that calendar with can see the meals on it, and the calendar is kept wherever its account keeps it.

Reminders

When you send items to Reminders, such as a shopping list or a recipe's ingredients, Foodie asks your permission first. It lists the names of your Reminders lists so you can choose one, or makes a new list if you ask. It reads the unfinished items in that list so nothing is added twice, and adds the rest.

Foodie Pro

Foodie Pro is bought through the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. Foodie never sees your payment details. To know whether you have Foodie Pro, Foodie asks the App Store on your device, and the answer stays on the device.

What stays on your device

Foodie remembers how you like to work: how the library is sorted, the tile size you chose, the order of your collections, and where you had reached. All of that is stored in the app's own preferences on your device. It never leaves the device, and it is removed when you delete the app.

What Foodie never does

Children

Foodie is safe for all ages. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here and the date at the top will change.
