Privacy Policy — Mojo
Last updated: 25 August 2026
Mojo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.
Your documents stay yours
Mojo reads and writes the Markdown files you open, in place, on your own disk. It makes no copy of them, sends them nowhere, and keeps no record of what they contain. The app runs in Apple's sandbox, so it can reach only the files and folders you choose to open.
What stays on your device
Mojo remembers how you like to work: the window layout, your editor and typography preferences, the appearance you chose, where you had reached in a document, and which commands you use most, so the command palette can offer them first. All of that is stored in the app's own preferences on your device. It never leaves the device, and it is removed when you delete the app.
If you open a folder as a vault, macOS gives Mojo a bookmark so it can reopen that same folder next launch. The bookmark is stored with the app's preferences and grants access to nothing else.
The Quick Look extension is a separate process, so Mojo shares the chosen appearance with it through a private app group. Nothing else is shared, and nothing leaves your Mac.
Network access
Mojo makes no network requests of its own. It has no server, checks for nothing, and reports nothing. Diagrams, syntax highlighting and mathematics are all rendered by code that ships inside the app, so they work with no connection at all.
A document you open can still reach the network on its own account. If it links to an image hosted on the web, macOS fetches that image in order to show it, and the site hosting it receives the request the same way any website receives a visit. If you follow a link, it opens in your browser. In both cases it is the document doing the asking, not Mojo, and nothing about you is added to the request.
What Mojo never does
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier
- No analytics or crash reporting services
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or health data
- No account, no sign-in, and no cloud storage of your documents
- No data sold or shared with anyone, because none is collected
Children
Mojo is safe for all ages. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children.
